Role Description The Finance Manager is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the financial health and day-to-day fiscal operations of The Ervin Group. This role manages budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow to support ongoing design projects and long-term planning.
Key responsibilities include preparing financial reports, tracking project-based costs, reconciling accounts, and monitoring revenue and expenses.
The Finance
Manager will collaborate with leadership on pricing strategies, vendor payments, and client invoicing, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with applicable standards.
The role also involves identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and supporting strategic decisions with data-driven insights.
Qualifications
Strong skills in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Proficiency in accounting practices such as general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end close.
Experience with invoicing, billing, and accounts payable/receivable in a project-based or professional services environment.
Comfort with financial reporting tools and accounting or ERP software; advanced Excel skills are highly beneficial.
Ability to interpret financial data, prepare clear reports, and communicate insights to non-financial stakeholders.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity in handling confidential financial information.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to support part-time, remote work across multiple projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus.
Prior experience in design, architecture, or other creative industries is beneficial but not required.
