Job Summary The Finance Manager will oversee project finance, plant accounting, financial reporting, and governance activities to ensure accurate financial management and operational efficiency. The role is responsible for monitoring capital expenditure (Capex), managing fixed assets, maintaining inventory controls, supporting manufacturing finance, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal control policies. The successful candidate will partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support business growth and operational excellence.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a Greenfield/Brownfield project workplace.
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, agribusiness, or industrial operations.
- Hands-on experience in Capex monitoring, asset capitalization, and plant accounting.
- 5–8 years of post-qualification experience.
Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAN).

Key Responsibilities A. Project Finance & Capex Management (Pre-Commissioning)
- Maintain the project Capex tracker and ensure all project expenditures are accurately captured and monitored.
- Review project spending against approved budgets and provide timely variance analysis.
- Track committed costs, purchase orders, advances, and actual spend across all project workstreams.
- Partner with Engineering, Procurement, and Project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting of project costs.
- Ensure compliance with project approval limits, Delegation of Authority (DOA),
and capitalization policies.
- Prepare weekly project finance dashboards and Capex utilization reports for management review.
- Monitor Capital Work-in-Progress (CWIP) and support the timely capitalization of completed assets.
- Support project closure activities, asset creation, and the handover of completed projects to operations.
B. Plant Finance Leadership (Post-Commissioning)
- Take ownership of all plant accounting activities and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Lead month-end financial close activities.
- Prepare monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports.
- Monitor manufacturing costs and conduct detailed variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and statutory requirements.
C. Inventory & Working Capital Management
- Lead periodic inventory counts and reconciliation exercises.
- Review inventory variances and implement corrective action plans.
- Monitor inventory controls and ensure adherence to approved procedures.
- Analyze inventory ageing, slow-moving items, and obsolete stock to improve working capital efficiency.
D. Fixed Assets & Asset Governance
- Ensure the timely capitalization of completed projects and fixed assets.
- Coordinate asset tagging and periodic physical verification exercises.
- Support fixed asset transfers and disposals.
- Ensure compliance with capitalization and depreciation policies.
E. Controls, Governance & Compliance
- Implement and monitor financial controls across project and plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA) and procurement governance requirements.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
- Drive the closure of audit observations and the implementation of corrective actions
Salary: 500k-700k <
