FLAGGER (Traffic Control Person)

Job Duties

As a Flagger, you'll be a critical part of our asphalt maintenance and construction crew, responsible for ensuring the safety of both our workers and the public. This role involves directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic through work zones, setting up and taking down traffic control devices such as signs, cones, and barricades, and communicating effectively with the crew using hand signals and two-way radios. You will monitor traffic flow, adjust control measures as conditions change, and maintain transparent safety zones around active work areas.

Safety is a priority; you'll actively participate in our health and safety program, follow all workplace policies, and remain vigilant at all times. Additional duties will be assigned by the site supervisor as needed.

Pay & Schedule

We offer $20–$25 per hour based on experience, with overtime paid in accordance with Alberta legislation and monthly pay on the 1st of every month. We provide hands-on training, daily lunch, and a professional, safety-focused crew culture.



Strong performers are first considered for advancement and future seasons. This is a travel-based, seasonal position requiring work away from home across Alberta and potentially out of province, with 8–12-hour shifts including weekends and occasional nights.

Requirements & Apply

Required qualifications include a valid Alberta Flagging Ticket, a valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean abstract, and the ability to work extended hours and travel extensively. You must be physically fit to stand for long periods, work outdoors in all weather, and be reliable, punctual, and drug- and alcohol free. Assets include First Aid certification, additional safety tickets, and previous experience in flagging or road construction.
