Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Governance Manager to lead and oversee the organization’s governance framework, ensuring compliance, transparency, and effective risk management. In this pivotal role, you will develop and implement policies, coordinate governance activities across departments, and foster a culture of integrity and accountability. Your expertise will drive strategic initiatives that support organizational excellence and uphold regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

- Develop, review, and maintain governance policies, procedures, and standards aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate governance activities across various departments to ensure consistent application of policies and best practices
- Monitor compliance with internal controls, legal obligations, and industry regulations through audits and assessments
- Prepare comprehensive reports on governance performance, risk management issues, and compliance status for senior leadership
- Facilitate training sessions to promote awareness of governance policies and foster a culture of ethical behavior
- Manage records management systems to ensure accurate documentation of governance-related activities and decisions
- Lead initiatives to improve governance processes using project management tools such as Microsoft Project or SharePoint

Requirements





- Proven experience in governance, compliance, or risk management roles with a strong understanding of organizational policies and legal frameworks
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analysis skills to evaluate complex data sets, identify risks, and recommend solutions
- Exceptional communication skills in English; bilingual proficiency in French is highly desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Microsoft Access, SharePoint, and Windows operating systems
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in team coordination and stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of databases, records management practices, procurement processes, and filing systems
- Ability to effectively negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Strong time management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines in a rapid-paced environment
- Prior administrative experience supporting governance or corporate functions is preferred
