Duties

- Assist with preparing hardwood floors for refinishing by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas
- Support experienced technicians in applying stain, finish, and sealant to restore floors’ beauty and durability
- Use hand tools such as scrapers, sanders, brushes, and rollers to complete various refinishing tasks
- Help with the installation of new flooring materials, including laying tiles or other flooring types when needed
- Read and interpret basic blueprints or project plans to understand scope and specifications
- Perform minor carpentry tasks like trimming, caulking gaps, and fitting moldings for a polished finish
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris safely and efficiently

Experience

- Prior construction experience or familiarity with building trades is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is key!
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and their proper use is highly advantageous
- Experience with flooring installation or tile laying is a plus but not mandatory—training will be provided
- Ability to read simple blueprints or technical drawings helps in understanding project requirements
- Strong work ethic with handyman experience or carpentry background is beneficial for success in this role




- No previous refinishing experience necessary—training will be provided to develop your skills from the ground up

Whether you already have experience in hardwood floor refinishing or you're looking to learn a skilled trade from the ground up, we'd like to hear from you.

This is a hands-on position assisting with all aspects of hardwood flooring, including:

- Sanding and refinishing hardwood floors
- Floor preparation and repairs
- Staining and finishing
- Hardwood floor installations
- Loading, unloading and maintaining equipment
- Keeping jobsites clean and organized
- Delivering exceptional workmanship and customer service

If you have previous experience, you'll have the opportunity to put your skills to work immediately. If you're new to the trade, we'll provide hands-on training and teach you the techniques and standards that have been developed over nearly 30 years in the hardwood flooring industry. We're looking for someone who:
- Has a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- Is reliable and punctual
- Takes pride in producing high-quality work
- Is physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment
- Is willing to learn and accept feedback
- Has a valid driver's licence (preferred)
- Can work well both independently and as part of a team
