We Are Hiring: Housekeeper

We are currently looking for exceptional Housekeeper to join us as we build out a unique and exciting contemporary hospitality offering in Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) and Ontario.

About the Role

Freshly renovated and newly redesigned, The Woodbourne Inn, The South Landing Inn and The Kent Motel are currently looking for a talented and detail-oriented part-time Housekeeper who shares the passion and values of the Sweetwater Hospitality Group: authenticity, excellence, beauty, positive engagement and responsibility.

The housekeeping team plays a core role in the full guest experience. Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining our high standard of cleanliness and care for guest rooms and public areas of the properties.

We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic and passionate about a high standard of care, cleanliness, and organization. We are a small and strong group, looking for a fast learner who can work well and contribute to our growing team. We frequently communicate about how we can improve our offering, our services, and the overall guest experience.

Hourly position starting at $18/hour.

Housekeeping

- Ensure the a high standard of cleanliness in guest rooms, service areas & public spaces
- Make beds and change linens, sheets, and towels
- Clean washroom facilities
- Vacuum and sweep floors, draperies and upholstered furniture
- Dust furniture and fixtures
- Remove and dispose of garbage and recycling
- Sort and maintain inventory of linens, sheets, and towels
- Comply with and uphold all department policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Follow and proactively promote all health and safety policies and initiatives




- Report all concerns related to the Head Housekeeper and/or the General Manager

Guest Services

- From the earliest interface with Sweetwater Group to final check-out, maintain extraordinary guest satisfaction
- Monitor and evaluate all guest interactions and offerings to ensure stellar services
- Initiate improvements and build loyalty over time carefully tending to all issues and experiences
- Work with the staff team on special events within the context of NOTL bylaws
- Light daily property maintenance, as needed (sweeping off patios, placement of flowers, ensuring premises are tidy and well kept, etc.)
- Special event liaison
- Ensuring proper set-up of rooms in collaboration with cleaning staff
- Fielding and addressing any guest questions or concerns
- Bringing any significant questions or concerns to the team
- Respond to urgent requests or issues that may arise outside of regular working hours

Candidates will:

- Have previous experience working in a hotel and / or hospitality environment
- The capacity to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Stand or walk for an extended time period
- Be flexible and energetic with the ability to work under pressure.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English




- You are organized and have strong time management and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, honest, creative, capable of working in a team workplace

- Be able to multi-task with flexibility in hours in a demanding environment with high expectations for quality of service
- Be a demonstrated team player that can work collaboratively with other staff who share a passion for the business and what it stands for

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
