Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Canada for a Human Resources Assistant and Health and Safety Coordinator at Vinyl Window Designs Ltd. The role involves supporting day-to-day HR operations, including maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment processes, onboarding recent team members, and coordinating training and development activities.

The position also focuses on health and safety coordination, such as helping implement safety policies, organizing safety training, maintaining compliance documentation, conducting or supporting workplace inspections, and following up on incident reports.

Assistant and Health and Safety Coordinator will collaborate with management and employees to promote a positive work environment, ensure adherence to employment standards, and strengthen the company’s health and safety culture. The role requires regular communication with staff across the manufacturing facility and administrative offices to support both HR and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

- Human resources administration skills, including employee file management, onboarding coordination, and support for recruitment and interviews.
- Health and safety coordination skills, such as knowledge of workplace safety regulations, incident reporting, inspection support, and training organization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with employees, supervisors, and management at all levels.
- Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple HR and safety tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., MS Office, HRIS or similar systems) and comfort working with spreadsheets, reports, and databases.
- Knowledge of Canadian employment standards and occupational health and safety legislation; experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Attention to detail and discretion in handling confidential information and sensitive employee matters.
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Joint Health and Safety Committee training) are an advantage.
