HR Manager, Canada

Milton, ON (hybrid - 3 days onsite)

MacDonald Search Group is a national permanent placement recruiting firm and we recruit on behalf of hiring companies.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a North American manufacturer and they are on the hunt for an experienced HR Manager to assume a standalone HR position for the Canadian operations. This role serves as a strategic HR partner to business leaders while acting as the subject matter expert on Canadian employment legislation, compliance, employee relations, and HR governance - the compliance skillset will be a priority.

Please note: this will start as a 12 month maternity contract with potential to become permanent based on solid performance.

You should have the following in your background to apply:

- 5+ years of senior HR experience.




- Bachelor’s degree is mandatory - in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- A deep understanding of federal and provincial employment laws.
- Ability to build scalable HR processes that support business growth, minimize risk, and enhance the employee experience.
- CHRP/CHRL designation considered an asset.
- 5-10+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation across multiple provinces.
- Experience supporting employee relations, investigations, workforce planning, and organizational change.
- Proven ability to develop HR policies, compliance frameworks, and operational processes.
- Experience partnering with Payroll, HRIS, Legal, and senior leadership teams.
- Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
