Drive Indigenous Relations at Northland Power, supporting sustainable energy development through effective engagement and community partnerships. Navigate both internal and external relations successfully. As the Indigenous Relations Leader, you will develop strategies to strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities across Canada.
This position demands expertise in consultation processes, negotiation, and risk management, pivotal to aligning projects with community interests and corporate goals. Your leadership will guide direct engagement with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities. Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate a holistic Indigenous strategy for the company
- Cultivate trust-based relationships with Indigenous Nations
- Lead regulatory consultation initiatives and reports
- Negotiate various engagement agreements effectively
- Manage External Indigenous Affairs consultants’ performance Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, social sciences, or related field
- Over 8 years leading Indigenous consultations
- Minimum 5 years in renewable energy projects
- Conflict management training beneficial
