Role Description This in office Internship – Mobile App Development role is based in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area. The intern will support the design, development, and testing of mobile applications that integrate with NellaDerm’s precision dermatology platforms.
Day-to-day tasks may include implementing app features, refining user interfaces, troubleshooting bugs, and assisting with performance optimization. The intern will collaborate with software engineers, product team members, and scientific staff to translate clinical and research needs into user-friendly mobile experiences. This is a structured internship role, offering mentorship,
exposure to healthcare technology, and opportunities to contribute to real-world digital health solutions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in mobile app development (e.g., Android or iOS), including basic proficiency in relevant programming languages and frameworks.
- Ability to work with APIs, data integration, and basic backend communication to support app functionality.
- Understanding of user interface and user experience principles, with interest in designing accessible, intuitive mobile workflows.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and testing skills, with attention to detail and code quality.
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and receive constructive feedback.
- Interest in healthcare, digital health, or dermatology; prior exposure to health-related projects or data is an asset.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to new tools and frameworks, and follow secure, ethical practices in handling health-related information.
