Job Title Intramural Lead Job Type Adaptable Union MRSA Salary Grade Flexible / Casual Classification (Salary Grade) SAD01 Administrative Services (Salary Grade 12) Hybrid Work This position is ineligible Position End Date 4/30/2027 Location MRU Main Campus - Calgary, AB T3E 6K6 CA (Primary) About This Position About the Role Working within the Cougars Athletics and Recreation, this is a flexible position whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week. Reporting to the Recreational Sports Supervisor, the Intramural Student Leader is a student casual staff responsible for co-coordinating our Intramural leagues which includes all aspects of staff management, league scheduling, team management, administration, mentorship, leadership, and participant conduct and communication. There will be three to five Intramural Student Leads who will work both as a team to ensure the best outcomes for our Intramural leagues but also independently while guiding 1-3 specific sport leagues within Intramurals.

Weekday evening availability is required for these in-person roles. While primarily located at MRU Recreation, hockey shifts operate at the Flames Community Arena and a personal vehicle is preferred for transporting equipment Sports Areas: Basketball, Futsal, Hockey, or Volleyball (can be multiple sports depending on schedule, experience, and interest) Responsibilities Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Must be willing to work with minimal supervisory assistance as well as part of a team

Willingness to lead, train, and mentor officials and scorekeepers Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal skills

Open attitude to working with a diverse population Ability to make quick informed decisions on the spot





Extensive experience with the sport Preferred Skills Current MRU students are preferred with University Students in general being our next preferred candidates

Conflict resolution experience is an asset

Any additional Scorekeeping, Officiating, or Coaching certifications or experience is considered an asset Required Certification Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED (or the ability to obtain certification by first scheduled shift)

Preferred Certification Sport Specific Certifications or 2+ years of experience with Post Secondary Intramurals

We offer reimbursement for these certifications once hired and proof of completion is provided.

Ice Hockey: Hockey Canada Officiating Certification: U19 - Level 2

Volleyball: Level 1 (Novice) Referee
