Ener-Gees is recruiting experienced IT Security Analysts on behalf of a Public Sector client. Successful candidates will work as contractors supporting the client's Cyber Security Risk Management (CSRM) Branch, helping protect critical infrastructure, monitor cyber threats, and respond to security incidents.

This role is ideal for IT security professionals with strong experience in network security operations, incident response, threat detection, and enterprise cybersecurity environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and investigate security incidents and service requests using ServiceNow.
- Monitor and analyze security events from firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, web proxies, secure web gateways, and other security technologies.
- Investigate network traffic, packet captures, logs, and security alerts to identify threats and indicators of compromise.
- Support incident response activities, including threat containment, root cause analysis, remediation, and reporting.
- Review firewall rules, access control lists (ACLs), network flows, routing paths, and security configurations to identify security risks and unauthorized access.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of network security controls, including segmentation, NAC, VPNs, and secure remote access solutions.
- Prepare security reports, risk assessments, operational procedures, incident documentation, and executive summaries.
- Support phishing simulations, security awareness initiatives, asset decommissioning requests, and PAM-related activities.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, cloud, identity,



and security teams to address vulnerabilities and security risks.

Mandatory Requirements

Education

- Diploma or degree in Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience & Technical Skills

- Experience supporting enterprise security operations in complex, distributed, and hybrid environments.
- Strong understanding of:
- Firewalls
- IDS/IPS
- VPN technologies
- Proxy services and secure web gateways
- DNS security
- Load balancers
- Network Access Control (NAC)
- Experience reviewing firewall rules, ACLs, network flows, routing paths, and security policies.
- Experience analyzing network traffic, logs, packet captures, and security alerts for threat detection and incident response.
- Working knowledge of:
- TCP/IP
- Routing and switching
- VLANs
- NAT
- DNS and DHCP
- VPN technologies
- Wireless security
- Common network protocols
- Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture, network segmentation, least-privilege access, secure remote access, and identity-aware security controls.
- Experience documenting security findings, risk statements, technical recommendations, remediation plans,



and operational procedures.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as:
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework
- CIS Controls
- ISO/IEC 27001
- ISO/IEC 27002
- Experience participating in change management reviews and assessing the security impact of infrastructure and network changes.
- Proven ability to work effectively with network, infrastructure, cloud, endpoint, identity, application, and security operations teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- CISSP
- CISM
- CCNP Security
- CCIE Security
- Fortinet NSE
- Palo Alto PCNSE
- Check Point CCSA / CCSE
- CompTIA Security+

- Contractor position through Ener-Gees Inc.

- Competitive hourly rate.

Job Types: Permanent, Freelance Pay: Up to $100.00 per hour
