Hirematic Talent Solutions is hiring on behalf of a confidential client for multiple Senior Java Engineers specializing in Agentic AI. We are seeking highly experienced, hands-on Software Engineers, Technical Leads, and Solution Architects who thrive in innovation-driven environments. Job Title: Senior Java Engineer – Agentic AI (Leads and Architects)

Location: Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)

Compensation: Technical Lead: CAD $60–67/hour / Architect: CAD $67–74/hour

Job Type: 6-Month Contract (Extension up to 12 months possible) or Full-Time

Openings: Multiple (5 Technical Leads & 3 Architects)

Responsibilities

- Design, architect, develop, test, and deploy scalable Java backend applications.
- Build end-to-end solutions from concept through production with minimal technical direction.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, AI frameworks, and development tools to determine the most effective implementation approach.
- Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes to validate technical feasibility and product direction.
- Design and implement modern microservices-based backend architectures.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to transform innovative ideas into production-ready solutions.
- Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
- Drive technical decision-making, architecture discussions, and engineering best practices.
- Participate in technology evaluations, product pilots, and innovation initiatives.
- Ensure scalability, security, maintainability, and high software quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).




- Minimum 8 years of hands-on Java backend development experience.
- Extensive experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Proven expertise designing software architecture and delivering complex distributed applications.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
- Good understanding of AI/ML concepts and AI-assisted software development.
- Experience working with Agentic AI, AI Agents, AI workflows, or AI-powered engineering tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, system design, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently in highly ambiguous and rapid-paced environments.
