Become a Learn to Skate Instructor with the City of Markham, focusing on delivering a safe and engaging skating program for children aged 3-10. Contribute your coaching expertise in a positive setting, ensuring a rewarding experience for young skaters. In this temporary role, you'll assist the Head Skating Instructor in preparing and organizing the Learn to Skate program.
Your skills in sports instruction and experience working with children will help foster a love for skating. The position offers a daytime schedule from 9 AM to 12 PM, making it ideal for those who appreciate teaching kids in a vibrant community setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of the skating program
- Create a safe environment for all participants
- Engage with children and support their learning
- Collaborate with the Head Instructor on daily tasks
- Enforce safety procedures and guidelines
Requirements:
- Two years of experience in instructional sports
- Minimum age of 16 at employment start
- Current Standard First Aid or CPR certification
- High Five Certificate for child development
- NCCP Theory Level 1 certification
