Take on the challenge of a Legal Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, providing key legal advice on operational and international law issues. This role offers hands-on experience within military justice systems. In the role of Legal Officer, you will support commanders in understanding and applying both international and domestic law.
Your legal expertise will extend to providing advice at military bases and advising on legal matters at National Defence Headquarters. Additionally, you'll represent clients in Court Martial and play an active role in treaty negotiations as a member of military delegations. Key Responsibilities:
- Offer legal advice in operational contexts
- Represent military clients in Court Martial cases
- Assist the commander with legal matters
- Participate in treaty negotiations and military liaison
- Deliver training in military law and justice Requirements:
- Admitted to a Canadian Bar and law society
- Two years of law practice experience required
- Full-time legal practice if graduated over two years
- Completion of military officer training
- Solid legal foundation in various disciplines Enhance military legal frameworks while advocating for justice within the Canadian Armed Forces.
