Overview

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Machine Operator Assistant / General Labour! In this role, you will work directly alongside our machine operators across all shop floor operations, assisting with sheet metal fabrication, material handling, shipping, and packaging.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your hands-on skills in manufacturing, machining support, and shop safety while being an integral part of a supportive, fast-paced team. No advanced experience is required—full on-the-job training will be provided!

Key Responsibilities

- Machine Support: Work alongside operators across all shop machinery (including Punch Presses, Press Brakes, and metal fabrication equipment) by loading, positioning, and unloading sheet metal.
- Parts Handling & Packaging: Package, label, and palletize finished products; assist with deburring and cleaning metal components.
- Quality Verification: Use basic measuring tools (tape measures, calipers) to conduct visual and dimensional checks on parts.
- Material Movement: Assist with shipping, receiving, raw material handling,



and operating manual or hydraulic pallet jacks.
- Shop Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, and organized workspace while adhering to all shop safety standards.
- General Shop Duties: Perform basic mechanical assembly, tool organizing, and other production tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Ability to comfortably lift up to 25 lbs in a fast-paced environment.
- High reliability, strong work ethic, and a positive, willing-to-learn attitude.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and measuring tools (tape measures, calipers) is preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or sheet metal shop environments is an asset, but not required.
- Must have CSA-approved safety shoes / steel-toed boots.
- Valid driver’s licence is considered an asset.
