Role and Objectives:

The Maintenance Manager, under the direction of General Manager Manufacturing, is responsible for managing all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of our company’s facilities. Your duties will include maintaining machinery, planning repair activities, and developing maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities:

- Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Supervising and leading all maintenance processes and operations.
- Identifying and implementing a proactive maintenance strategy that ensures efficient operations.
- Creating maintenance strategies that build towards company goals and objectives, considering “future state” documentation and other strategic plan objectives.
- Translates implementation strategies, objectives, and direction into concrete activities for self and direct reports.




- Looking for new ways to improve productivity while reducing operating costs.
- Ensuring equipment installs, guarding, etc. is installed and running in accordance with the WSBC Standards, as well as within governing codes such as building codes, fire codes, electrical codes.
- Creating & managing preventive maintenance procedures and checklists.
- Creating & managing troubleshooting guidelines.
- Tracking expenses and overseeing the budget for maintenance.
- Creating and implementing maintenance procedures.
- Conducting regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
- Planning and managing all repair and installation activities.
- Ensuring all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
- Assigning repair schedules and evaluating repair cost estimates.
- Documenting and preparing daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
- Stepping in to help coordinate more complex maintenance work.
- Hiring and management of subcontractors and other vendors for specialized maintenance work.
- Performance management of all reports, which may include termination.
- Involvement in hiring new maintenance staff.
- Maintaining timecards and pay of direct reports, approving/denying leave, or vacation requests as well as scheduling staffing appropriately.
- Other duties as requested or required.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, facility management, or a similar field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in working as a journeyed tradesperson, electrical, millwright or mechanical.
- Previous managerial experience is a bonus.
- Good understanding of the technical features of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of facilities, machines, and equipment.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Conditions:

- Location: Kalesnikoff Lumber, 2090 Highway 3A Thrums BC.
- Overtime as required.
- Occasional exposure to dust, noise, and fumes when visiting various sites.
- Desk work, with interruptions and an expectation of ability to refocus quickly.




- Ability to occasionally lift 25 lbs.

Compensation Package:

- Salary: $106,400 – $119,900 (dependent on experience)
- Schedule: Monday – Friday
