We are seeking an experienced Licensed Industrial Electrician who is equally comfortable leading a team as they are working on the production floor.
This individual will be responsible for managing the Electrical Department, mentoring junior electricians and apprentices, coordinating electrical projects, supporting manufacturing operations, and leading automation and controls initiatives.
This is a working management position—not a desk-only role.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ontario Licensed 442A Industrial Electrician (required)
- Minimum 10 years of industrial electrical experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive PLC troubleshooting and programming experience
- Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation experience
- Siemens PLC experience considered an asset
- HMI programming and troubleshooting
- VFD programming and commissioning
- Industrial automation and controls experience
- Machine commissioning
- Control panel design interpretation
- Industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, etc.)
- Robotics experience considered an asset
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Electrical Department
- Supervise electricians and apprentices
- Schedule departmental workload and priorities
- Provide technical mentorship and training
- Perform hands-on electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Support manufacturing and production equipment
- Diagnose electrical, PLC, automation and controls issues
- Program, modify and troubleshoot PLC systems
- Support new equipment installations and commissioning
- Ensure all work complies with ESA and applicable electrical codes
- Maintain electrical documentation and drawings
- Coordinate outside electrical contractors when required
- Improve machine reliability and reduce downtime
- Assist with continuous improvement and automation initiatives
- Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety standards
