Marketing & Partnerships Coordinator
Halifax Thunderbirds Position Summary The Halifax Thunderbirds are seeking an energetic, organized, and motivated Marketing & Partnerships Coordinatorto join our front office team.
This position will support the organization’s marketing initiatives, corporate partnerships, digital content, community engagement, and game-day operations. The coordinator will work closely with internal departments, corporate partners, vendors, players, and community organizations to help grow the Thunderbirds brand and deliver value to the team’s partners and fans.
The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple projects, and eager to build a career in professional sports. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys both the creative and relationship-driven sides of sports business.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing The Marketing & Partnerships Coordinator will play an integral role in supporting the planning, execution, and evaluation of marketing initiatives that drive attendance, grow the Halifax Thunderbirds brand, and enhance the overall fan experience. Working closely with multiple departments, this position will help execute campaigns promoting home games, special events, community initiatives, partnerships, and organizational priorities.
This role will assist in managing the annual marketing and promotional calendar while coordinating creative assets across digital, social media, email, website, print, in-arena, and community channels. The coordinator will help ensure all marketing projects are completed accurately, on time, and in alignment with the Halifax Thunderbirds' brand standards.
The successful candidate will also support grassroots marketing efforts throughout Halifax and Atlantic Canada, assist with fan communications and promotional materials, collaborate with external vendors and internal departments, and help monitor campaign performance by compiling reports and evaluating results to identify opportunities for continued growth and engagement.
Corporate Partnerships The Marketing & Partnerships Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day management and fulfillment of the Halifax Thunderbirds’ corporate partnerships. Working closely with the Partnerships team, this position will help ensure every sponsorship agreement is executed professionally, accurately, and on schedule while delivering an exceptional experience for our partners.
This role will coordinate partnership assets across digital, social media, email, game presentation, signage, hospitality, promotions, community events, and other activation platforms.
The coordinator will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of partnership deliverables, deadlines, approvals, and fulfillment while serving as a primary point of contact for collecting logos, advertisements, promotional materials, and other required assets from corporate partners.
The successful candidate will also assist in the creation of partnership proposals, presentations, activation plans, and end-of-season recap reports. In addition, they will support partner hospitality, ticketing requests, game-day experiences, contests, giveaways, and special events while contributing to partnership renewal and new business efforts through research, creative activation ideas, presentation development, and administrative support. This position will also research prospective partners and industry opportunities to help identify future revenue and relationship-building opportunities for the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not required.
An equivalent combination of skilled experience, internships, game-day work, volunteer experience, or demonstrated success in sports, marketing, partnerships, communications, or related fields will be considered.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the National Lacrosse League season and at team events.
Preferred Experience and Skills
Previous experience or internship experience in professional, collegiate, amateur, or youth sports.
Experience supporting corporate partnerships,
sponsorship fulfillment, account management, or client service.
Experience with social media management and short-form digital content creation.
Basic graphic design experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.
Photography, video production, or video-editing experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Familiarity with CRM, project-management, email-marketing, or content-management platforms.
Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar platforms to support research, content creation, marketing, and productivity.
Knowledge of the Halifax business community and Atlantic Canadian market.
Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

Schedule
This is a full time position. Regular office hours are generally Monday through Friday; however, the successful candidate will be required to work Halifax Thunderbirds home games and other team events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
