Stantec is seeking a Discipline Manager to oversee our Mining Group within our Canadian mining delivery team.
The focus of the position will be to engage our highly skilled team in the technical execution of various mining projects with diverse range of complexities. Coordinate team’s work and provide technical guidance on design approach and challenges. Assign qualified individuals and teams to projects Develop, maintain and implement a training program to support the professional development of team members Recognize when technical problems develop and initiate guidance for corrective actions.
Conduct work in a safe manner and promote health and safety within the office and outside of the office while visiting clients and job sites.
Project Delivery
Provide technical leadership guidance to the team, and perform a variety of tasks to plan, execute and deliver. Plan, organize, and manage the team’s production of project deliverables to ensure on time delivery, technical quality, and within budget.
Lead and assist with development of technical approaches, deliverables and methodology for proposals, budgets, and schedules. Skilled leader and team player capable of building relationships both internally and externally.
Excellent communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications, and presentations. Technical experience in the design and construction of mines in multi-disciplinary avenues. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel and Powerpoint. Open mindedness to learn new aspects of the mining industry and applicable technologies.
Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree or Diploma related to the underground mining field. At least 10 years of professional experience in mining. Join us and redefine your personal best #FeelingEnergized At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
