About the Role This role sits at the intersection of regulatory expertise, client advisory, and municipal coordination, facilitating a smooth and predictable path from purchase to installation. The Red Tape Ranger plays a critical role in ensuring clients can confidently understand and navigate local requirements while enabling Bunkie Life to scale efficiently across jurisdictions.

You will serve as both a trusted advisor to clients and a key liaison with municipal stakeholders, helping to reduce uncertainty, streamline approvals, and improve overall project timelines.

You will also work to proactively research permitting requirements and methods to circumnavigate said requirements by geographic area helping provide direction for marketing and sales.

This role is central to delivering a seamless client experience and enabling scalable growth. By reducing permitting friction, offering alternatives to permitting, improving approval timelines, and building strong municipal relationships, you will directly contribute to both client satisfaction and company growth.

This role aims to reduce the number of sales refunded from being frustrated by permitting / zoning.



It will also increase the number of leads converted to sales by eliminating the ‘guesswork’ of permitting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Regulatory Research & Knowledge Base Development

- Research and interpret applicable legislation, building codes, and municipal bylaws to inform permitting requirements for both client and internal guidance.
- Build and maintain a centralized repository of municipal bylaws, zoning requirements, and approval pathways across key markets.
- Monitor emerging municipal policy and regulatory changes that may impact permitting pathways, and provide recommendations to internal teams.
- Think creatively to develop alternative pathways for clients to attain a bunkie without needing a permit

Municipal Relations & Stakeholder Engagement

- Act as the primary point of contact between clients and municipal building departments, facilitating clear communication throughout the permitting and approval process.
- Build and maintain solid working relationships with key stakeholders, including municipal building officials, inspectors, and planning staff, to support efficient approvals and issue resolution.
- Proactively address and resolve comments or deficiencies raised by building officials to minimize project delays
- Provide firm, yet strong resistance to municipal officials who make discretionary interpretations of bylaws

Permit Application Preparation & Submission

- Prepare, review, and submit complete permit applications, ensuring compliance with municipal requirements to minimize resubmissions.

LOCATION: This position is primarily remote, with occasional travel required to the company’s main office in Rockwood,
