About Us

Briken Productions is a Vancouver-based theatre production company focused on bringing high-quality Latin American theatre and Spanish-language entertainment to the community. We are currently preparing for our upcoming production, Dos Locas de Remate, and are looking for an experienced theatre technician to support the technical side of the performance.

Position Overview

We are looking for an On-Call Theatre Technician — Lighting & Sound to assist with the technical setup and operation of the play. The ideal candidate has experience with live theatre, stage lighting, sound cues, microphones, music, and timing during performances.

This is an event-based role for one upcoming production on August 30, 2026, with the possibility of future on-call opportunities for upcoming shows and events.

Responsibilities

- Assist with lighting setup for the production.
- Support sound setup, including microphones, speakers, music, and sound cues.
- Operate or assist with lighting and sound during rehearsals and/or performance.
- Follow the timing and cue sheet for the play.
- Coordinate with the director, producer, actors, and venue staff.
- Help test equipment before the show.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues during setup or performance.




- Ensure all technical elements run smoothly and safely.

Requirements
- Experience with live theatre, events, AV, lighting, or sound production.
- Ability to operate or assist with lighting and sound boards.
- Understanding of cues, timing, and live performance flow.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure during live events.
- Reliable, punctual, and qualified.
- Availability on August 30, 2026 is required.
- Availability for a technical rehearsal or setup call before the event is preferred.

Assets
- Experience with stage lighting design.
- Experience running sound cues for live performances.
- Familiarity with small to mid-size theatre venues in Vancouver.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is an asset but not required.

Compensation Pay range is $26–$35 CAD per hour, depending on experience.

Final rate will be confirmed based on the candidate’s technical experience and the scope of work required for the production.
