About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team and manage full-cycle payroll, with a primary focus on union payroll. This is a hands-on, rapid-paced role requiring immediate proficiency in Workday, as the organization is handling its first year-end in Workday and there will be no time for training. The ideal candidate is independent, proactive, and able to collaborate effectively with a highly engaged team.
At least 2 years of Workday payroll is a must.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage payroll from A to Z, ensuring accuracy and compliance for all employees.
- Prioritize union payroll processing, while also handling non-union payroll. Union experience is preferred.
- Prepare and input payroll data in Excel; basic to intermediate Excel skills required.
- Work closely with the payroll team and management, particularly during year-end processing.
- Identify issues, resolve discrepancies,
and ensure timely payroll delivery.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of payroll experience, with proven experience in unionized environments preferred.
- At least 2 years of Workday payroll; must be ready to manage year-end payroll without training.
- Strong Excel skills (basic to intermediate) for payroll data input and reporting.
- Highly independent, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
