Wage Rate: The Attending Physician bills OHIP directly for eligible physician services provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES - In this role as an Attending Physician, you will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, including other APs, NP, RNs, RPNs, PSWs,
to provide medical care for residents.
- In collaboration with the Medical Director, provides comprehensive primary care to residents.
- Collaborates and consults with the Director of Care, Nurse Practitioner, nursing staff, interdisciplinary team and external resources regarding residents’ plan of care.
- Attends the home on a weekly basis to provide clinical care to assigned residents.
- Addresses resident acute and chronic care needs and provides appropriate and timely documentation.
- Identifies circumstances in which palliative and/or end‑of‑life care may benefit the resident and family members and work collaboratively with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Participates in after-hour on-call schedule - Conducts regular medication drug review and documents/updates residents’ health records.
- Participates in outbreak management meetings and provides on‑site medical oversight during outbreaks - Commits to continuing education related to long term care, care of the elderly, palliative care and dementia care.
- Actively participates as a member of the Professional Advisory Committee.
- Participates in in‑service education programs each year.
QUALIFICATIONS - Medical practitioner licence to practise medicine in the Province of Ontario, and always be a member in good standing of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
- Experience working in long‑term care, preferred.
- Knowledge of regulations governing long‑term care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team - Ability to build trust and interact in a professional manner with staff, residents, families, and other community partners.
