JOB SUMMARY The Intake Worker works as an active team member in our Unit. Under the direct supervision the Placement Intake Worker seeks out appropriate placements for children who require an out of parental care placement. The Intake worker will be required to have a working knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act as well as Enhancement Act Policies and Procedures as well as STA Policies and Procedures while endeavoring to preserve the language and culture of Stoney People

TASK AND DUTIES v Recruitment v Completes intake package with potential caregivers v Assist caregivers in enrolling in caregiver training v Designs and completes spreadsheets to ensure that the knowledge of available home/beds is accessible at all times v Ensures the homes are entered on ISIS in a timely manner v Communicates with other team members on the Placement Unit v Works Collaboratively with other team members at Stoney Nakoda Child and Family Services

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND REQUIREMENTS ü Social Work Diploma, Bachelors of Social Work, Related Post-Secondary, plus a minimum of two years related experience.



Once these are exhausted other equivalences may be considered ü Ability to speak Stoney is an asset ü Must possess a class 5 driver’s license ü Must have a working vehicle ü Must possess excellent interpersonal skills ü Must possess excellent verbal and written skills ü Must sign an Oath of Confidentiality form and a breach of confidentiality form ü Must have excellent computer skills

OTHER v Liaises and maintains communication with community based programs and management, government agencies, parents, caregivers, community members and other related organizations v Represents SNCFS when interacting with partners, Child and Family Services and Delegated First Nation Agencies v Ensures personnel administration is in accordance to STA regulations and policy and Provincial legislations v Represents SNCFS in extended training capacities and opportuniti
