PPF and Window Tint Installer (Freelance, Part Time, or Full Time)

Southwest Wheels and Custom — Unit 1, 647 Wilton Grove Rd, London, ON

About us

Southwest Wheels and Custom is a new automotive shop in south London specializing in tires, custom wheels, paint protection film, and window tinting. We are building this shop around clean work and a reputation we can stand behind, and we are looking for an installer who takes the same pride in a finished car that we do.

The role

You will be handling PPF and tint installs start to finish: prep, cut, install, and final inspection. Depending on the arrangement that suits you, this can be freelance work when jobs come in, a steady part time schedule, or a full time position with a broader role in the shop.

What you'll be doing

- Full and partial PPF installs including front ends, hoods, fenders, mirrors, door cups, and rocker panels
- Window tint installs on cars, trucks, and SUVs, including windshield strips and full vehicle packages
- Surface prep, decontamination, and panel cleaning before every install
- Plotter and pattern software work, plus hand cutting where a pattern won't do the job
- Heat shrinking, tucking edges, and squeegee technique that leaves no fingers, creases, or contamination
- Quality checking your own work and correcting anything that isn't right before the customer sees it
- Keeping the install bay clean and dust controlled
- For full time roles, helping out with tire and wheel work, mounting, balancing, and general shop duties

What we're looking for

- 1 to 5 years hands on experience installing PPF and window tint

- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Steady hands, patience, and a genuine eye for detail
- Familiar with plotter software such as FilmSource, DAP, or similar
- Understanding of Ontario tint regulations and what is legal on which windows
- Reliable, on time, and straightforward to communicate with
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and comfortable moving customer vehicles
- Own hand tools are an asset but not required
- Certifications from film manufacturers such as XPEL, SunTek, STEK, or Llumar are a strong asset

Arrangement and pay We are flexible on how this works and will build it around the right person.

- Freelance / on call: Come in as jobs get booked. Profit share per completed job.
- Part time: Set hours, hourly pay based on experience.
- Full time: Hourly pay based on experience, with a role that extends into our other services.

Pay range is $20.00 to $40.00 per hour depending on experience and skill level, or profit share per job completed for freelance work. Rate is discussed openly during the interview and we pay for what you can actually do.

How to apply

Send your resume along with photos or video of your previous installs to [your email]. Work samples matter more to us than a polished resume. If you have a car you have done yourself, bring it by.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada. We thank all applicants, though only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Pay: $20.00-$40.00 per hour

Advantages

- Profit sharing

Work Location: In person
