Process Engineer (Food Extrusion) Responsibilities

- Optimize extrusion, drying, coating, milling, and packaging operations to maximize throughput, yield, and efficiency while minimizing waste and downtime.
- Scale new products from pilot trials to commercial production by partnering with R&D;, validating processing parameters, and documenting manufacturing specs.
- Lead equipment upgrades, capital projects, and new equipment commissioning; collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance on reliability and automation improvements.
- Drive Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives, conduct root cause analysis, implement CAPAs,



and improve OEE and manufacturing KPIs.
- Ensure all processes meet BRCGS, HACCP, and customer quality standards; support audits and foster a strong food safety culture.
- Serve as the technical liaison between Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and R&D; to ensure seamless communication and successful product launches.

Process Engineer (Food Extrusion) Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Process, Food, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Solid 5–10 years in food manufacturing or process engineering; extrusion experience and plant protein/snack/ingredient backgrounds are assets.
- P.Eng. or eligibility preferred; Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and HACCP/BRCGS certifications are assets.
- Proficient in SPC, data analysis, and MS Office; familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, MES/ERP, and process automation platforms is a plus.
- Equipment commissioning, process troubleshooting, GMPs, food safety compliance, and cross-functional project leadership.
- Class 5 license and own transportation is desired
- Able to provide 2 professional references
- Able to pass a background check if needed
