Our products are manufactured in Canada with distribution nationwide. We provide fully engineered and tested systems, design assistance, and cost-saving options, with over 1000 installed projects completed in a variety of building types.

IBP is currently recruiting a Production Supervisor for our steel forming plant in Aldergrove, B.C. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a challenging opportunity for a hands-on leader to support safe, efficient, organized, and continuous improvement-focused manufacturing operations.

Key Details

- Position type: Permanent, full-time
- Shift: Day shift — 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Pay: $34.00–$38.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
- Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs, including before/after shift and occasional weekends

Role Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily production activities in a steel forming manufacturing environment. This role is heavily focused on maintaining safety compliance, improving production efficiency, supporting housekeeping standards, organizing workflow, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will provide leadership to production employees, ensure safe work practices are consistently followed, support production targets, monitor product quality, and help maintain a clean, efficient, and well-organized operation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, coach, and support production employees in daily steel forming operations.
- Maintain a solid safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with company safety rules, procedures, safe-work practices, PPE requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Conduct regular safety observations, workplace inspections, and follow-up actions to help prevent incidents and maintain compliance.
- Organize daily workflow, labour allocation, production priorities, and equipment usage to meet operational requirements.
- Monitor production output, machine performance, product quality, and overall efficiency.
- Support troubleshooting of production, quality, equipment, and process-related issues.
- Ensure steel product is produced, bundled, banded,



stacked, labeled, and handled safely and accurately.
- Maintain strong housekeeping standards across the production area, including clean, organized, and hazard-free work zones.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, efficiency, quality, organization, waste reduction, and productivity.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and effective communication within the production team and across departments.
- Support training, onboarding, and skills development of production employees.
- Ensure equipment, tools, materials, and work areas are properly maintained and ready for production.
- Communicate production updates, issues, staffing needs, safety concerns, and improvement opportunities to plant leadership.
- Assist with incident investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up when required.
- Maintain accurate production, safety, quality, and operational records as needed.

Personal Protective Equipment — PPE Requirements Employees in the production area are required to wear appropriate PPE, which may include:
- Safety glasses
- Hearing protection
- CSA-approved safety footwear
- Reflective safety vest
- Forearm protection
- Additional PPE as required by task or site procedure

Qualifications & Skills
- Previous supervisory, lead hand, or team leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and demonstrated ability to enforce safe work practices.
- Experience in steel forming, roll forming, metal manufacturing, building products, or similar industrial operations is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage production flow, priorities, people, and equipment.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with experience identifying and implementing practical improvements.
- Strong understanding of housekeeping, 5S, visual management, or workplace organization principles is an asset.




- Mechanical aptitude and ability to support troubleshooting in a production environment.
- Ability to lead by example and build a positive, accountable, team-oriented work culture.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction and constructive feedback.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and safe product handling.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with other departments.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete production or safety-related documentation.
- Forklift experience or certification is an asset.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment with moving equipment and steel product handling.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to perform regular floor supervision, inspections, and hands-on support in the production area.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities.
