We currently have an opening for a Production Supervisor on the afternoon shift, working Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., at our Elmira, Ontario manufacturing facility. The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. The position is accountable for attendance, timekeeping, staffing adjustments, performance management, discipline, training compliance and effective shift handover. The Supervisor oversees fabrication, robotic and manual welding, and CNC processing activities, while coordinating with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance to meet customer requirements and production schedules.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate daily operations.
- Lead teams operating robotic welding cells, manual welding stations, CNC beam line, CNC angle line, drilling, sawing, coping, and plate processing.
- Monitor production schedules and allocate labor and equipment to achieve production targets and on-time delivery.
- Ensure fabrication and welding activities comply with engineering drawings, specifications, welding procedures (WPS), and applicable industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to verify overall workmanship and ensure the Quality department is performing dimensional and overall quality inspections and retains release authority.
- Promote and enforce workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Train,



coach, and mentor production employees to improve technical skills, productivity, and quality.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide ongoing documented feedback and development.
- Coordinate with Quality Control to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime and maximize machine availability.
- Monitor material flow, production efficiency, and inventory usage to reduce waste and improve productivity.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction.
- Maintain accurate shift reports, and performance metrics.
- Actively participate in shift handover and safety incident and near-miss investigations.
- Support production planning by identifying capacity constraints and recommending process improvements.
- Work in compliance with ISO 9001 procedures and Lean Manufacturing principles.

Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or trade certification in welding, fabrication, or manufacturing is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in steel fabrication and welding (experience in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred).
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Solid knowledge of steel fabrication processes and shop operations.
- Experience with robotic welding systems and manual welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, MCAW as applicable).
- Experience operating or supervising CNC beam and angle lines, drilling, sawing, coping.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, fabrication details, and welding symbols.
- Working knowledge of welding procedures, quality standards, and inspection requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- CWB welding knowledge or supervisory experience in a CWB-certified shop.
- Overhead crane and rigging knowledge.




- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems; ERP/MRP experience is an asset.

Salary range for this position is expected to be between $65,000 and $70,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Candidates must be located in Canada and legally eligible to work here.
