For more information, please visit our website: knappett.com About the Opportunity Knappett Projects Inc. is looking for a full-time Project Manager based in Victoria, BC.
Reporting to the Owner, with guidance from senior Project Managers, you will play a key role in delivering commercial, institutional, industrial, residential, and defence construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, while contributing to estimating activities across a diverse portfolio of projects. In this position, you will be primarily responsible for managing multiple construction projects simultaneously, overseeing estimating, planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, financial performance, and client relationships while working closely with project coordinators, superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to deliver high-quality projects safely,
on time, and on budget. More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Managing construction projects from award through closeout, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and execution
Preparing estimates and supporting tender reviews and pre-construction activities for new project opportunities
Administering subcontracts, purchase orders, procurement activities, and trade partner coordination
Building and maintaining project schedules using Microsoft Project while coordinating milestone dates and project deliverables
Monitoring project financial performance, including cost tracking, progress claims, billings, holdbacks, forecasting, and month-end reporting
Processing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and project documentation while maintaining accurate records
Working closely with superintendents, project coordinators, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to keep projects progressing efficiently
Managing client communications, leading project meetings, resolving issues, and maintaining strong working relationships throughout project delivery
Supporting quality, safety, contractual compliance, and proactive risk management throughout project delivery
Coordinating project closeout activities, including deficiencies, as-built documentation, O&M; manuals, warranty requirements, and final turnover To read the full position description, please click here.
About You To qualify, you will bring 5+ years of experience in construction project management, ideally within a general contracting environment, along with a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related construction discipline. The following are required:
Valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
Ability to travel between the Victoria office and project sites as required Additionally,
the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Experience managing commercial, institutional, industrial, multifamily residential, defence, or public sector construction projects
Working knowledge of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, procurement, cost control, and contract administration
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation
Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, progress claims, billings, holdbacks, and closeout documentation
Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project
Experience with Advanced Excel, Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or CAD software
PMP certification, P.Eng. designation, or eligibility for registration (asset)
