The Role The Property Janitorial Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across all properties. This role includes cleaning interior common areas, vacant residential suites, the administration office, and exterior grounds, as well as managing garbage and recycling collection.

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in presenting a professional and well-maintained property for tenants, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

1. Interior Cleaning

- Clean and sanitize common areas including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, laundry rooms, and washrooms according to the cleaning schedule.
- Clean the administration office and shared workspaces.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness to ensure a tidy, safe, and welcoming setting for tenants and staff.

2. Vacant Unit Cleaning

- Perform detailed cleaning of vacant residential suites prior to new tenant move-in.
- Clean kitchens (appliances, cupboards, counters, and sinks), bathrooms (tubs, toilets, mirrors, and tiles), windows, floors, and light fixtures.
- Remove all debris and garbage to ensure the suite is move-in ready.
- Report any damages,



maintenance issues, or required repairs to the Property Manager.

3. Exterior Grounds, Garbage, and Waste Collection

- Collect and remove garbage and recycling from designated areas and prepare for municipal pickup.
- Keep garbage rooms and disposal areas clean, organized, and odor-free.
- Sweep and clean building entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas.
- Remove litter and debris from outdoor common areas, landscaped spaces, and parking lots.
- Break down and dispose of bulk items or furniture when required.
- Clean accessible exterior windows and doors.
- Assist with seasonal upkeep such as snow removal, salting, and light landscaping or yard work.

4. General Duties

- Report maintenance issues, property damage, or safety hazards promptly.
- Maintain and properly care for cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and property management policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Property Manager.

Skills and Qualifications

- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cleaning or janitorial experience, preferably in residential or property management environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physically capable of performing cleaning duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in conduct.
