Duties

- Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency
- Oversee food handling procedures to meet safety and sanitation regulations
- Manage food inventory, order supplies, and control costs effectively
- Lead, motivate, and manage kitchen staff to foster teamwork and professional growth
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen activities
- Serve as a mentor for team members, providing training on cooking techniques and service protocols

Experience

- Red Seal Cook Certification and a valid Food Handler's Certificate.
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive culinary experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant, with previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Extensive culinary expertise across a variety of cuisines, with a strong emphasis on Italian, Steakhouse, and contemporary dining.
- Thorough understanding of restaurant operations, including food production, kitchen workflow, cost control,



and quality assurance.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop kitchen teams while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, HACCP principles, and applicable health regulations.
- Experience managing inventory, ordering, receiving, menu costing, waste reduction, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation in a fast-paced workplace.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with front-of-house teams, vendors, and management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and restaurant POS or inventory management systems is considered an asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business operations.
