Leggat Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC is seeking an experienced Sales Manager for our Pre-Owned Division to lead and grow our pre-owned vehicle operations at a high volume dealership. This is a key leadership position responsible for inventory acquisition, pricing strategy, sales performance, merchandising, team development, and profitability. The successful candidate will be accountable for all aspects of the used vehicle department, ensuring inventory levels, sales performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence meet or exceed dealership objectives.

Compensation: $130,000 to $160,000 on target earnings through base salary, commission, and bonus pay structure. Our uncapped commission structure allows unlimited earnings based on your performance.

Schedule: Full-Time 5 days per week leadership position including rotational Saturdays The Role

As Sales Manager of our pre-owned division, you will oversee the entire pre-owned vehicle operation, working closely with Sales, Service, Finance, Marketing, and the Dealer Group to maximize opportunities and profitability. You will lead by example, coach and develop staff, and ensure processes are executed consistently while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience

As a member of a large automotive group, you will have unique opportunities and resources, such as access to vehicles from all our dealerships representing most brands.

What You'll Do

- Lead, coach, and develop the sales team through training, accountability, and performance management.
- Set and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals.
- Achieve trade penetration targets (60% new, 35% used).
- Drive vehicle acquisitions through trades, service drive, direct purchases, lease maturities, auctions, and external sourcing.
- Maintain a customer Want List program to proactively source inventory.
- Manage inventory pricing, aging, gross profit, and turn to maximize performance.
- Review auctions and leverage group inventory to meet vehicle demand.
- Oversee e-leads, CRM activity,



and team adherence to sales processes.
- Work with the sales team in the Service Drive to identify appraisal and acquisition opportunities.
- Ensure accurate appraisals using dealership tools and market data.
- Oversee inventory merchandising, reconditioning, and frontline readiness, targeting a 48-hour turnaround where possible.
- Partner with Service and Parts to optimize inventory flow and reduce downtime.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Review departmental performance with the General Manager and implement improvement plans.
- Ensure effective use of CRM, DMS, inventory management, desking, and appraisal tools.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

- Proven experience managing a high-volume used vehicle operation.
- Minimum 3 years automotive management experience.
- Valid OMVIC License.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, market pricing, acquisitions, auctions, and vehicle merchandising.
- Experience with CRM, DMS, appraisal, and inventory management systems.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.




- Solid understanding of dealership financials and profitability metrics.
