Role Summary

The SAP Fioneer FPSL Banking Consultant will be responsible for hands-on functional configuration, implementation, and support of SAP Fioneer Financial Products Subledger (FPSL) for banking products. The consultant will work on detailed design, configuration, testing, integration, reconciliation, and deployment activities, ensuring accurate subledger accounting and seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA Finance .

The role requires robust expertise in FPSL functional configuration, banking products accounting, event-based accounting, IFRS 9 requirements, and integration with source systems to support successful implementation and go-live activities.

Roles and Responsibilities:FPSL Functional Configuration (Banking)

- Configure SAP Fioneer FPSL objects for banking products including:
- Loans and advances
- Deposits
- Money market instruments
- Securities and bonds (where applicable)
- Configure FPSL components including:
- Contract types and contract attributes
- Event types and event processing
- Posting schemas and accounting determinations
- Support setup and configuration of:
- Valuation areas
- Subledger accounting layers
- Accounting principles and ledgers
- Translate approved finance and business designs into FPSL functional configurations.

Accounting & IFRS 9 Support
- Implement FPSL accounting logic aligned with:
- IFRS 9 classification requirements (AC, FVOCI, FVTPL)
- Effective Interest Rate (EIR)-based accruals
- Fee and charge processing
- Support accounting processes related to:
- Initial recognition
- Accruals and amortization
- Derecognition events
- Validate accounting results and posting outcomes at contract and General Ledger levels.
- Collaborate with Finance Leads and Solution Architects to ensure compliance with accounting standards.





Integration Support (Source Systems & SAP S/4HANA)
- Support inbound integration from:
- Core banking systems
- Treasury platforms
- Trading systems
- Validate event payloads, attribute mappings, and data enrichments.
- Support outbound integration between FPSL and SAP S/4HANA Universal Journal.
- Validate:
- Document splitting
- GL account derivations
- Posting completeness and consistency

Testing, Reconciliation & Defect Resolution
- Execute and support:
- Unit Testing (UT)
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Perform reconciliation activities between FPSL, source systems, and SAP S/4HANA.
- Analyze and resolve functional defects related to configuration, accounting postings, and integrations.
- Support defect triaging and coordination with technical teams.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Fioneer Financial Products Subledger (FPSL) .
- Proven experience implementing or supporting FPSL solutions for banking products.
- Strong understanding of banking accounting processes and financial instruments.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance integration, especially Universal Journal.
- Strong knowledge of:
- IFRS 9 accounting principles
- Subledger accounting concepts
- Event-based accounting
- Contract accounting and posting logic
- Experience with FPSL configuration, testing, reconciliation, and production support.
- Ability to work with business stakeholders, finance teams, architects, and technical teams.

Nice to Have:
- Experience with SAP Banking Services or SAP Fioneer banking solutions.
- Experience with core banking system integrations.
- Knowledge of securities, treasury, and financial products accounting.
- Experience supporting large-scale SAP transformation programs.
- Exposure to SAP Fiori, SAP S/4HANA Finance, and SAP integration frameworks.
