Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Financial Planning, the Senior Analyst, Enterprise Financial Planning will primarily support the Sport Chek banner and play a crucial role in creating and managing financial plans, analyzing data, and providing insights that drive strategic decision‑making.
Responsibilities - Support Merchandise Financial Plan – assist in the creation and management of the Annual Merchandise Financial Plan (MFP).
- Reconciliation – support the reconciliation of top‑down vs bottom‑up MFPs by working closely with banner planning functions.
- Performance Tracking – monitor monthly sales/margin performance against plans and forecasts; identify trends that will inform long‑term financial forecasts.
- Data Analysis & Reporting – conduct detailed financial analysis and reporting on key performance metrics.
- Category & Channel Analysis – support category prioritization, channel opportunities analysis, objectives setting, and resource allocation through detailed financial modeling.
Qualifications - Post‑secondary university education, preferably in business or finance.
- 3+ years’ experience in a financial analysis role within a retail organization.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel at an intermediate or advanced level;
experience turning data into recommendations and actionable insights.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and a broad understanding of financial planning principles.
- Proven track record of supporting cross‑functional projects and working effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical and insightful with strong problem‑solving abilities to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within financial data.
- Detail‑oriented, ensuring accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
- Proactive with the ability to anticipate needs and provide solutions before issues arise.
- Strong communicator, capable of presenting complex information in a transparent and concise manner.
- Collaborative team player who builds relationships easily across stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward.

Compensation Salary Range: $64,000 – $106,000 CAD (typical hiring range $70,000 – $85,000 CAD).
