Senior Financial Accountant (Contract)

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established organization seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-18 month contract. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on delivering accurate financial reporting, improving processes, and partnering with teams across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate completion of monthly financial reporting while supporting the broader finance team with year-end activities, compliance, and ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the monthly close process, including preparing working papers, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and posting journal entries
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Prepare and file regulatory returns, including GST/HST, WCB,



royalties, and other required filings
- Maintain customer and vendor records and related financial information
- Support the year-end audit process and coordinate with external auditors
- Contribute to finance initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Provide support across the finance department as needed

What We’re Looking For

- CPA designation (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE)
- Experience with full-cycle accounting, including purchasing and billing
- Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
