Main duties

- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Preparing layouts using measuring tools.
- Cutting, shaping, assembling, and installing wood and other construction materials.
- Constructing foundations, framing floors, walls, and roof systems.
- Installing doors, stairs, trim, moldings, and hardware.
- Performing repairs, renovations, and maintenance on existing structures.
- Working efficiently and independently while maintaining company quality standards.

Employment requirements

- Completion of secondary school
- Completion of a two- to four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in carpentry

Own tools/equipment

- Steel-toed safety boots
- Hard hat
- Construction Gloves & Safety Glasses
- Construction Clothes




- Personal hand tools (measure tape, hammer, Utility knife, Torpedo level, tool belt)

- Bending, crouching, kneeling,
- Combination of sitting, standing, walking,
- Handling heavy loads,
- Physically demanding

Transportation/travel information

- Valid driver's licence
