Your Opportunity:
Access Addiction and Mental Health (AAMH) South supports Albertans looking to access Recovery Alberta Mental Health and Addiction services. As a member of the AAMH team, you will be responding to callers and conduction the tele-triage of mental health and addiction calls. Dependent on the nature of the call, you may be required to conduct a thorough screening and intake assessment to determine the appropriate level of service required for the caller, enroll the caller into a mental health or addiction service, advise of appropriate external community-based services, provide immediate brief intervention and solution-focused support, and appropriately triage to services where necessary. As part of a multi-site team providing expanded intake services for community mental health and addiction clinics in the south, you will be supporting clients across the lifespan, including clients in rural and remote areas.
Description:
As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a team-oriented multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of one of the following programs may be considered, however MASTERS QUALIFICATION IS PREFERRED: Bachelor of Social Work including training and experience in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and who have Restricted Psychosocial Intervention Authorization. Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing with: a. Related Master’s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. b. Experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Minimum of 2 years of relevant mental health assessment experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Competency in Connect Care. Experience in providing virtual services. Experience in crisis intervention. Comprehensive knowledge of mental health and addiction services in Southern Alberta.
