Lead Hand – Assistant Plant Supervisor

Location: Concord, ON
Term: Full time, Permanent
Shift: Afternoons
Pay Rate: $50K range

Responsibilities:

- Oversee a dept of 30 employees
- Assign tasks and monitor progress of fabrication team members
- Ensure production schedules are met
- Oversee machine setup, operation, and changeovers
- Inspect fabricated parts for accuracy, finish, and adherence to specifications
- Enforce quality standards and initiate corrective actions when defects occur
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to resolve technical issues
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to fabrication staff
- Act as the first point of contact for resolving shop-floor concerns
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct daily safety checks and encourage safe work practices
- Report and document incidents or near misses
- Organize materials,



tools, and equipment to minimize downtime
- Identify process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste

Requirements:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in metal fabrication/manufacturing environment
- Robust knowledge of fabrication processes: welding, brake press, paint line, assembly
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Proven leadership experience in a production environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
- Hands-on technical expertise in fabrication processes
