Albany Medical Clinic has 40 family doctors and more than 40 different specialists supported by a team of staff including nurses and other direct physician supports.

We are currently looking for a experienced medical receptionist to cover a 12 month maternity leave.

Duties

- Greet patients warmly and manage multi-line phone systems with skilled phone etiquette
- Schedule patient appointments using EMR systems PSS
- Patient Check-In & Demographic Update
- Verify all key patient information (Health card number, version code, expiration date, address, phone number, DOB, pharmacy information, email and voicemail consents, roster status).
- Prepare invoice and process payments as per physician instructions
- Reschedule/cancel appointments as required
- Respond to physician messages/tasks especially for booking patients within specified timeline;
- Calling patients with appointment reminders




- Schedule pap visits, flu shots; Schedule diabetic patients for periodic visits
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to ensure care plans are well documented
- Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

Qualifications

- Minimum 1 year experience working as a medical receptionist
- Knowledge of Telus PSS is an asset
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent computer skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
