Essential
Responsibilities
Oversee staff to ensure the successful delivery of a single complex commercial and high rise residential construction project to completion
Ensure that superintendents are equipped with the resources required to efficiently complete projects according to approved plans, specifications and applicable building codes while ensuring that safety regulations are strictly followed
Actively participates in the pre-bid and preconstruction process regarding site layout, logistics, scheduling, and workforce planning
Participate in the hiring and managing of hourly employees as required, and maintains, approves, and submits hourly timecards with all necessary details for job costing purposes
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients/consultants to ensure client needs are met and ensure future business opportunities
Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project. Applies the requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to promote overall compliance of Ledcor HS&E; standards, applicable OH&S; acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project
Ensure project materials are supplied, and work is completed in compliance with the Project Quality Program
Develop, maintain and drive the construction schedule in conjunction with project team; ensures project milestones and completion dates are met
Strategically plans and implements manpower levels and material quantities; ensures proper equipment and trades are available as required
Assume a leadership role and provides guidance to project team members in order to contribute to their development and career growth
Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project’s ongoing progression
Oversee project reporting that accurately tracks site progress, events, inspections and other relevant information
Qualifications
20+ years of construction experience as a Superintendent or similar direct supervisory role on large-scale high-rise residential construction projects
Combination of work experience and/or technical training in an industry-related trade certification/education program
Extensive experience working on prefabricated or mass timber projects will be highly regarded
Expertise in safety within the organization and knowledge of OH&S; and Environmental standards and regulations
Superior communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to work with senior management
Excellent organizational, planning skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices, documents, drawings, schedules, technologies, equipment, industry practices and contract negotiations
Expertise in coaching and developing team members through constructive feedback and providing opportunities for development
Ability to anticipate problems and challenges, while providing leadership in creating innovative solutions to achieve organizational objectives
Must have and maintain a valid drivers license
Work Conditions
Site based role in Toronto, Scarborough, North York, Ontario Compensation
$125,600-$172,700 per year
This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
