In this hands on team leader role, you will manage a middleware development team while also contributing to the design and implementation of solutions.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities - Lead team of 3 to 5 Systems Management administrators - Manage support, and administration of Middleware infrastructure consisting of: Savvion BPM, BMC Patrol, BMC Control-M, Tibco ESB, and Weblogic servers - Responsible for defining, auditing, and managing defined operating procedures for the day to day operations of Middleware infrastructure - Review IT projects with regards to labor estimation, hardware sizing and recommendations for Middleware infrastructure - Ensure proper deployment, auditing, and tracking of enterprise Middleware product licenses - Manage configuration and maintenance of Middleware products/platforms - Manage security models/mechanisms associated with each Middleware product - Trouble-shoot Middleware infrastructure problems of various levels of magnitude in timely fashion - Manage support of Middleware development efforts, including some design, construction, and implementation - Develop and maintain best practices and enterprise standards for Middleware infrastructure - Evaluate and perform associated hot-fixes/patches/upgrades - Provide capacity planning - Plan and manage disaster recovery plans for Middleware infrastructure - Provide key performance metrics of Middleware infrastructure for management dashboard - Remain aware of latest versions, new product capabilities,
set up and installation requirements and base product functionality associated with portfolio of Middleware products - Responsible for developing/co-coordinating/supporting system implementation notices for Middleware infrastructure changes - Provide problem resolution following ITIL incident mgmt principles through use of - Remedy-based trouble ticketing system Qualifications - University degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related - Strong interpersonal, analytical and technical trouble-shooting skills - Solid verbal, written communication, skills and team player attitude is essential - Demonstrated strong team work ethic - Demonstrated team lead experience in IT - Minimum 1-3 years relevant work experience using 1-3 of the following Middleware products: Tibco components: Business Works, EMS, Hawk, and Rendezvous; Savvion BPM; BMC Patrol; BMC Control-M; Weblogic; FTP/PGP encryption; - Experience with integrating Middleware with Oracle and Sqlserver databases - Experience with UML tool desirable - Experience with UNIX scripting on SUN Solaris/HP-UX platforms required - Some experience with Windows Host scripting language required - Experience with XML/XSD/XLST/XPATH desirable - Experience with Java/J2EE, C/C++, JavaScript, .NET (Visual Basic/C#) desirable - Experience administering PGP encryption, as well as using SSH, SSL - Some demonstrated experience with monitoring tools - Some demonstrated experience with job control tools - Demonstrated experience in working in IT environments having set incident and change management processes required - Working experience with 3rd party Remedy tool as vehicle for incident management is a definite plus - Knowledge/experience with ERWin/related data modeling software an asset - Knowledge/some experience with EMC SANs required - Knowledge/experience in related Systems management products such as Tivoli, and Unicenter would be considered Click here to apply online If you're not interested, but know someone who is, please help a current or former colleague in their career development by referring them.
