What You’ll Do

As a key member of Sidekick, you will support our vision of creating a beautiful gathering place for people from all walks of life. The Kitchen Porter at Sidekick Brewing will be working in partnership with Kitchen leadership to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of Sidekick’s wares and work environment are up to Sidekick’s standards and according to Sidekick’s processes.

Position Overview

- As a Kitchen Porter, you are an essential part of the engine room of our kitchen. From ensuring our tableware, flatware, and preparation tools are ready for the day's service, to being involved in food preparation as needed.
- The Kitchen Porter role is a casual position with a variable schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends, and is offered as a part- or full-time role. Those seeking to advance their culinary career will be offered opportunities to develop their skills and take on new challenges regularly.

Essential Responsibilities

- Clean and sterilize countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks
- Maintain food storage areas like chillers
- Receive deliveries and organizing them in the kitchen
- Wash dirty dishes like cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher




- Remove kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly
- Clean and maintain cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers
- Ensure work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company and Fraser Health guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.
- Assist in basic food preparation requested by kitchen leadership, as needed
- Participate in regular kitchen deep cleaning schedule and ad hoc kitchen and washroom hygiene responsibilities as directed
- Provide assistance to kitchen leadership and fellow kitchen staff, as needed
