Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Shop Manager/Heavy Haul Mechanic to lead our maintenance operations and oversee the repair and servicing of heavy-duty equipment. This role combines hands-on mechanical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring our fleet of heavy machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment, operates at peak performance. Duties

- Oversee daily shop operations, scheduling repairs, and coordinating maintenance tasks for heavy equipment and vehicles
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Conduct routine inspections using schematics and technical manuals to ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools to carry out repairs and assembly work
- Manage inventory of parts and supplies needed for maintenance activities while ensuring proper documentation of all service records
- Lead heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate equipment such as cranes or hoists during repairs or equipment installation
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and maintenance recommendations

Qualifications





- Proven dealership or heavy equipment repair experience with a strong background in automotive repair or industrial machinery maintenance
- Extensive mechanical knowledge of heavy haul equipment including excavators, cranes, Caterpillar machinery, and farm implements
- Skilled in electrical systems troubleshooting and working with schematics for complex machinery diagnostics
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, or cranes is highly preferred
- Ability to perform welding, assembly work, and use various hand tools safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems related to industrial equipment is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
- Customer service-oriented mindset with transparent communication skills for working with clients and team members
