Afro Street Cruise is looking for a creative, energetic, and results-driven Social Media Manager & Content Creator to help grow our brand and connect with audiences across Calgary and beyond. This role is responsible for creating engaging content, managing social media platforms, capturing memorable event moments, and building an active online community. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, social media trends, content creation, and event marketing.

They understand how to create content that not only entertains but also drives engagement, and brand awareness.

The Social Media Manager & Content Creator will work closely with the Afro Street Cruise team to showcase our events, sponsors, partners, and community while maintaining a consistent and professional brand image across all digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Create high-quality photo, video, and graphic content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Capture and edit content before, during, and after Afro Street Cruise events.
- Design promotional graphics, event flyers, and social media campaigns.
- Develop and execute content calendars and posting schedules. Manage daily social media activity and audience engagement during contract time frame.
- Grow followers and build a loyal online community.
- Monitor trends and create viral, shareable content opportunities. Promote events, ticket sales, sponsors, partnerships, and special announcements.
- Provide live event coverage through Stories, Reels, TikToks, and recap videos.
- Maintain a strong, consistent,



and professional Afro Street Cruise brand presence.
- Track social media analytics and provide recommendations for growth and performance improvement.

Qualifications:
- Experience managing social media accounts for brands, businesses, events, or creators.
- Strong photography, videography, and editing skills.
- Proficiency with content creation tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube best practices. Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Availability to attend and cover events in Calgary.
- Passion for entertainment, culture, community events, and digital marketing.

- High-performing Reels, TikToks, and video content that generate strong visibility.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
