About the Role:

As part of the Aspire Services team, the Life Skills & Empowerment Coach will help empower neurodivergent young people to build independence and gain confidence through developing various life skills. This position will provide coaching, strategies, tips and support to youth and young adults in a hybrid model of support, including virtually and in person. Support may be provided in employment settings, group settings and one to one settings.

This role is a full-time position with a minimum of 35 hours per week, but not exceeding 44 hours. It includes adaptable scheduling including days, evenings and weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, community partners, employers, volunteers and other members of the community

· Deliver structured coaching support in areas such as: social skills & healthy relationships, independent living skills, career readiness & employment skills, executive functioning skills, and community safety to build independence and confidence in the clients you are supporting

· Be a positive, encouraging and supportive role model and mentor to those you are supporting

· Confidence with coaching participants in various ways including: group programs, one to one coaching, employment settings and the community

· Connect and maintain positive connections with community agencies, members, employers and partners

· Utilize various strategies, problem solving techniques and creative ways to support young people to reach their goals

· Develop, create & prepare coaching materials tailored to individuals you are supporting

· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with organization’s standards

· Administrative duties as required & other duties as assigned

· Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed for programming

Qualifications,



Education & Experience:

· A college diploma or a university degree in Social Work or a Social Service Worker diploma

· Membership, in good standing, with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)

· Experience working with people with varying abilities and neurodivergencies, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities and intellectual disabilities

· Ability to connect, build rapport and develop relationships with youth and young adults

· Willingness to travel throughout community, valid G driver’s license and reliable transportation considered an asset

· Demonstrates a passion for empowering young people to grow, learn and build confidence, while committed to providing a positive, encourage and supporting environment for all clients

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills including experience in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel

· Ability to work across a variety of environments (community, family home, employment setting, etc)

· Demonstrated coaching experience through any discipline (ex: youth, sports, life, etc)

· Knowledge of community resources and supports

· Creative, strong problem-solving skills, organized, positive attitude, good interpersonal & communication skills

· Valid certificate in First Aid, CPR, and NVCI
