Job Summary

Kadak Toronto is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong cooking skills, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen, and a commitment to maintaining high food quality and hygiene standards. As a Senior Cook, you will play a key role in food preparation, maintaining consistency, and supporting the kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items according to Kadak's recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Monitor food quality and freshness while minimizing waste.
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation (FIFO), and ingredient preparation.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Train and support junior kitchen staff when required.
- Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.

Requirements





- Previous experience as a Cook or Senior Cook in a qualified kitchen.
- Experience in an Indian restaurant is a strong advantage.
- Good knowledge of Indian spices, curries, tandoor (if applicable), and traditional cooking techniques is preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Physically able to stand for long periods and lift kitchen supplies when needed.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset.
