Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

White Rapids Manor is a 40-bed nursing home located in Fredericton Junction, Current Brunswick. We are currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our dedicated team. The LPN must act in accordance with the mission and values of White Rapids Manor, be an advocate for resident rights, and be flexible to the changing work environment.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) on duty or on call, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides safe, competent, and compassionate nursing care to residents. This includes delivering direct care in accordance with individual Resident Care Plans and supporting the RN in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care. The LPN may assist with more complex nursing duties as required, within their legislated scope of practice. The LPN shall work within the licensed practical nurse maximum scope of practice and is responsible to identify and report practice items to the Director of Nursing that may require additional mentorship/training.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with resident care plans and established standards of practice
- Support and collaborate with the Registered Nurse in resident assessments and care planning




- Administer medications and treatments as authorized and required
- Advocate for resident rights and dignity at all times
- Participate in quality improvement, Planetree, and resident-centred initiatives
- Accurately document care and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Maintain professional competence and work within the Licensed Practical Nurse scope of practice

Qualifications

- Graduate of a recognized Licensed Practical Nurse program
- Maintain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New Brunswick
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, solve problems, and make sound clinical decisions
- Proficiency in the use of technology, medical equipment, and documentation systems
- Good previous work and attendance record
- Physically and mentally able to perform the duties of the position
- Written and spoken proficiency in English required

The Government of Canada offers Canada Student Loan forgiveness to eligible nurses who work in rural areas, including Fredericton Junction.

Pay: $35.14-$39.63 per hour
