Job Overview
Candidates are invited to apply for the above Permanent full-time position to work at a long-term care facility, located in Stouffville, Ontario.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Assistant Director of Care supports clinical leadership within the Long-Term Care home. Working closely with the Director of Care, the ADOC ensures the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with provincial legislation and standards set by the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care and the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Responsibilities

- Supports and oversees nursing and personal care services to ensure excellence in resident care
- Ensures compliance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and all applicable regulations; Participates in ministry inspections and audits.
- Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, etc., for both residents and department personnel in accordance with policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
- Monitors quality indicators, incident reports, and clinical outcomes; Supports Quality Improvement Plan initiatives
- Leads and supports clinical programs, including policy development (IPAC, wound care, falls prevention)
- Supervises RNs, RPNs, and Personal Support Workers; Supports staffing and clinical resource planning; Assists with recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management, including coaching and mentorship and ongoing education.




- Responds to resident or family concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or brings to the attention of the Director of Care.
- Acts on behalf of the Director of Care as required

Qualifications

- Registered Nurse required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Membership or eligible for membership with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- At least two years of experience working as a registered nurse in the long-term care sector is required;
- At least two years of working experience as a registered nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a health care setting required
- Leadership and communication skills are required; Effective human relation skills
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, unionized settings and labour contracts preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques including education
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems (e.g., PointClickCare)
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour
