Steps Academy is looking for caring, reliable, and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Bus Drivers. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to make a positive impact every day by ensuring they travel safely to and from school and our programs.

We are looking for team members who are dependable, skilled, and committed to providing a safe, positive experience for every child.

If you currently hold a Class 1, 2, or 4 driver's licence and enjoy working with children, we'd love to hear from you!

Don't have your S Endorsement or ECE Certification? We are happy to support the right candidate in obtaining these qualifications.

Responsibilities

As a Bus Driver at Steps Academy, your responsibilities may include:

- Safely transporting children to and from school, field trips, and community outings.
- Operating company vehicles while following all traffic laws and Alberta transportation regulations.
- Assisting children as they safely board and exit the bus.
- Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting any maintenance concerns.
- Maintaining a clean and organized vehicle.
- Enforcing bus safety rules and ensuring children's safety at all times.
- Completing trip logs, incident reports, inspection records, and other required documentation.
- Communicating effectively with families and fellow team members regarding transportation needs.




- Working collaboratively with classroom staff to ensure smooth daily transitions.

Qualifications

Successful applicants should possess:

- Valid Alberta Class 1, 2, or 4 Driver's Licence.
- S Endorsement (required for applicable licence classes). Candidates without an S Endorsement may be considered, as assistance may be provided to obtain it.
- Experience working with children is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations and Health & Safety practices is an asset.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A positive attitude and commitment to child safety.

Required Certifications

- Valid Emergency First Aid with CPR (Level B or Level C accepted).
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification is preferred. Candidates who are not yet certified may be eligible for support in obtaining certification.
